WV Asbestos Victims – Protect Your Rights – Garlock Bankruptcy Settlement

Written by on June 23, 2015 in Asbestos, blogs, Mesothelioma

There have been a number of recent TV ads regarding Garlock Sealing Technologies, LLC and The Anchor Packing Company about a “settlement” of their bankruptcy involving asbestos claims.  The Bankruptcy Court appointed the Asbestos Claimants Committee early in this case to protect the rights of all persons with current asbestos claims against Garlock or Anchor.  The Asbestos Claimants Committee opposes this settlement, because it believes that asbestos victims would be placed at an unfair disadvantage and that the compensation for victims would be unfairly low.  The Committee is urging claimants to vote “No.”  If you or a loved one were exposed to asbestos products manufactured by Garlock or Anchor Packing, you need to take action.  People diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease on or before August 1, 2014 may need to take action by October 6, 2015.  If you have questions, feel free to contact the mesothelioma and asbestos lawyers at Harvit & Schwartz, or your Asbestos Claimants Committee member.
